Truthtelling
Everywhere we go, we are on someone’s sacred ground.
Our Shed recognises the Aboriginal peoples of the Barkly region.
We listen to the traditional custodians, and pay our respects to the ancestors and Elders of these lands.
We acknowledge the impacts of the colonial past on these lands and communities and we work alongside the challenges, strengths and resilience of Aboriginal people who are guiding us into the future.
Our Shed
Our Shed was donated to the Tennant Creek community with the vision of being a place where all different people and groups can feel welcome, connect with others, grow ideas and build strengths.
Tennant Creek has many stories, including as a town that has fought hard for change.
Stories that show we have a heart of gold and that we come together for each other, when times are tough, or to celebrate and to make memories.
We want to grow those stories, and make new ones, at Our Shed.
